I paid DeleteMe from 2018 until I cancelled in September 2026.
Eight years. A people-search count. Recrawl the public listings, show a number, call it a removal.
When I started sending authorized-agent letters — deletion to brokers, do-not-sell to the companies that sell the file — they still had me. Not one leftover. Companies. Data brokers. The wholesale file the public page never showed.
That is the product they sold: a quieter Spokeo-style listing. Not the letter. Not the confirmation. The companies that bought you kept selling you.
You cannot undo decades in 90 days
People hand over an email at a register, a warranty card, a voter roll, a loyalty punch. That file compounds for decades. Brokers put you back after you opt out. A 90-day cleanse is a story they tell so you feel done and stop paying attention.
This is years. It is a subscription because the resale does not stop. We drip the catalog. We follow up. We rewrite brokers on a 90-day refresh. A few of their forms still need you. We ask for one tap at a time, over a long time, so the work actually happens.
We are not 100% automated either. We will not invent a completion. Confirmed is their email: they deleted you, or they hold no record. Silence is the default. Receipts are the exception, and they are the product.
What I built instead
RemoveMyTracks writes the companies that hold the file, as your authorized agent, under a limited power of attorney. Proof is the email back. Sample redacted letters are on Proof. How that differs from a recrawl count is on Compare.
Abine's consumer product is joindeleteme.com. I am not calling that a scam. I am saying I paid it for eight years and the brokers still had the file.
If you want a number on a people-search page, they will sell you that. If you want the letter, and the years it takes to keep sending it, that is this.
